PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS
The Extended Day Program gives St. Joseph the opportunity to provide a service to the parents of children attending our school. This program is structured and organized but flexible enough to allow students to enjoy this time. Our program provides a secure, cheerful environment for your child(ren) by offering a well-supervised schedule including time for outside/gym play, quiet play and/or homework.

The cost of the program is $4.50 per hour, per child. A minimum of one (1) hour will be charged for the service and in fifteen (15) minute increments thereafter.
A non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 per family must accompany the registration form.
Invoices will be issued bi-monthly (for the previous two weeks). All payments are due by Friday of the week billed.
A late departure fee for picking up a child after hours will be $1.00 per minute.
Delinquent accounts are grounds for dismissal from the program.
Attendance will be taken daily for safety and security reasons. A child may not attend the program if he/she did not attend school that day. If a child is absent on a scheduled day of school, for any reason you must call and notify Extended Day directly as well as their teacher.
Persons picking up children must enter the room and sign them out indicating the time. Only those people designated (names appearing on the registration form) may pick up a child. When your designated person arrives to sign-out your child(ren) for the first time, we will request to see their Photo I.D. for verification.
Children are permitted to bring a change of clothing. Rubber soled shoes are required for gym activities and recommended for outdoor play. Each child will have an area for book bags, coats, and other personal belongings. All items need to be marked with the child’s name. The school does not assume responsibility for the belongings of children using the service of the program.
Your child will need to bring in a snack daily. After attendance students will dismiss for snack time.
Activities will vary and are directed by the caregivers. Students are encouraged to relax and enjoy themselves with the other children in the program. When weather permits, the children will be taken outdoors. During wet or cold weather the children will use the gym.
Lego’s, blocks, board games, puzzles, etc. and a Friday movie (G-rated only) will be available.
In addition, an area is designated Monday – Thursday for quiet study and homework.
When Sylvania Schools close, St. JosephSchooland Extended Day also close. Please listen to your local radio or TV station for delays and closings.
All school policies, administrative procedures, and rules of the school apply to the Extended Day Program. Disciplinary problems will be handled with a conference between the director and parents. Persistent disciplinary problems are grounds for dismissal from the program.
Emergency medical health forms will be kept on site. Procedures for emergencies will follow regular school policy. If your child becomes ill while attending Extended Day you will be notified and asked to pick up your child.
A child with any of the following signs or symptoms of illness shall be immediately isolated and discharged to his/her parent or parent designee.
