Robin Smithberger, K-5 Music/MS School Band

Background:

Bachelor of Music Education ( BME) with a specialization in voice- Angelo State University, Texas

Mrs. Smithberger has been a music teacher for 24 years in both public and private school realms. She enjoys spending time with her family, singing at church, performing with Musica Antigua of Toledo, Masterworks Chorale and Epiphany Players.

Why SJPS:

I enjoy the art of teaching and sharing my love of all kinds of music with my students, helping them to become musically literate people. I enjoy helping them to find the music within themselves.
I love teaching at SJPS because it is a warm and faithful place to be. The staff is very welcoming, knowledgeable, professional and the students are eager to learn! It is a privilege to share my faith with all of the beautiful people at SJPS!

Bachelors in Theology from Gannon University. I've been a Parish Music Director (directing choirs) since 2007, and singing in the church from childhood.

Why SJPS:

I am thrilled to be able to work for SJPS, a PARISH SCHOOL, where the spiritual life and music are important. I primarily work for the parish but I am blessed to be in the classroom a couple days a week to help adolescent voices gain confidence and learn to sing out in the church.

Amy Saad, K-8 Art/MS Advanced Art

Kris Krupitzer, P.E./MS Health

Background:

Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Health and Physical Education from Bowling Green State University

When I am not at school I am running, doing puzzles, and enjoying time with my wife and 4 cats

Why SJPS:

I love the community, the family, that is Saint Joseph's Parish. Everyone has been so welcoming and positive, it makes for a very healthy learning environment. I love the students here at SJPS; I look forward to coming into work and I have fun and smile every day. There are not many places or professions where you can say that.

Monni Johnstone, Spanish

BS from English 7-12; BS Spanish K-12; M.A. in Spanish Language (all three from B.G./La Universidad de Alcala de Henares)

Why SJPS:

The kids and teachers are amazing, talented and kind. There is a wonderful energy here, and I am grateful to be a Jaguar! I actually lived in both white houses next to the Fitness Shack (an elderly couple owned both), so it’s fun to think of all the things that called me to be here many years later. The Lord definitely has a plan and purpose for all of us.

Bachelor's degree K-8 from the Univesity of Toledo, Master's degree in the Art of Education fom Mary Grove College. This is my 38th year in Catholic Education, 25 in Kindergarten, 8 in 2nd grade, 4 as the Lead Primary Teacher/Librarian

SJPS has been my home for 36 years! I grew up here, raised my kids here, and now my grandson is here! This faith community has become my family!

Dawn Miles, MS Intervention Specialist

Mrs. Miles has spent 26 years at Saint Joseph Parish School. She started out as an Intervention Specialist at the elementary school, then moved to middle school when the new school was built.

Pam Zychowicz, Elementary Intervention Specialist

Background:

Masters of Education in Literacy; Bachelors in Elementary Education 1-8; Reading Endorsement K-12; Intervention Specialist Licensure K-12, Mild-Moderate. All degrees are from the University of Toledo. I have a certification in Multisensory Structured Language Education issued by IMSLEC. I have been at SJPS for 28 years. I was a teacher assistant for four years and 24 years teaching.

Why SJPS:

Saint Joseph Parish School enabled me to find my calling to teaching. It is a special place with wonderful students, parents, teachers, staff, and administrators. Our school community is like a family
