  • What is the Kindergarten age requirement?
    Students must be five by August 30th, 2025 to enroll in kindergarten for the 2025/26 school year.
  • What does the new student application process look like?
    All new kindergarten students are given an assessment as a measure of strengths and opportunities. Students are officially admitted after the return of all required paperwork (including providing original birth and baptismal certificates [if applicable] for review). New students applying for admittance in grades one through eight are required to provide current transcripts and copies of any ISP/ IEP or 504/ IMAP, in addition to completing required paperwork and an assessment. All newly- admitted students entering Saint Joseph Parish School are probationary for the first year.
  • What are SJPS hours?
    School doors open to students at 7:30AM. Students are expected to be in their seats by 7:55AM, ready for prayer and announcements beginning at 8:00AM. Dismissal begins at 2:40 PM for students. See the hours for our Extended Day Program below.
  • Do the students need to wear uniforms?
    Students in kindergarten through grade eight are required to wear uniforms throughout the school year. Uniforms may be purchased through Schoolbelles, 5325 Monroe St. Toledo, OH 43623 or online through Lands’ End. The complete dress code policy will be provided upon enrollment. PTO sponsors a used uniform sale each year.
  • What athletics does SJPS offer?
    The following extracurricular athletic opportunities are offered through CYO: cross country, track, basketball, soccer, and volleyball.  Baseball and soccer are available through Sylvania Recreation.
  • What does the art program look like?
    Students in grades kindergarten through eight participate in music and art classes.
  • Do the students have any foreign language education at SJPS?
    Spanish classes begin with kindergarten students through the eighth grade.
  • Can the students purchase lunch?
    Saint Joseph Parish School is currently partnering with an outside vendor to provide a hot lunch for our K-5 students. Pizza is offered a few times a month for our middle school students.
  • What are the options for transportation?
    Students may be picked up by a guardian, or students living in the Sylvania Schools district may use Sylvania busing for transportation. A request for transportation must be made each year at the Sylvania District site: http://www.sylvaniaschools.org/Non-PublicTransportation.aspx​
  • Does SJPS offer an extended day program?
    Saint Joseph Parish School offers an Extended Day Program for kindergarten through fifth grade beginning at 2:45 PM and ending at 5:30PM. There is a fee associated with usage. Registration is available by contacting the school office.
